Jack Collison to become manager of Peterborough
|
... for their final pre season game at Bishops Stortford.
He will also be taking charge of the U21 team throughout the season to give him experience as he is going through his coaching badges.
Might not interest all of you on here, but he is a great lad and one of those people I'll keep an eye on for the rest of his career. Can't think of many I'd like to see succeed more.
Will keep an eye on Posh results this season and hope the ex hammers there do well.
thanks for reading and feigning interest.

Top lad. At the peterborough game he didn't have time for a couple lads during his warm up for photos but promised he'd go back at the end of the match. Quite emotional seeing him warm up tbh.

Rio61299 1:10 Tue Aug 4 Re: Jack Collison to become manager of Peterborough watched him a couple of times this pre season.... still keeps the ball really well.... but looks fucked... cant even walk without having to try and straighten his leg himself. Either that or he constantly has a stone in his shoe.
Im a good mate of Robbo, Posh's gaffer and Jack is superb around the club with all the younger lads. Will defo become a great coach
I suspect he is very conscious of his old injury all the time, but still has something to offer.
Spot on re his interaction with the young lads though - also helped my son Kieran secure a contract there at Posh by introducing him to Dave R and for that I will always be grateful.

Good luck to him, good player and a great lad whose career was cut far too short by injury.

It looks like coaching has to be his future. Good luck Jack, you deserve some better luck & you will always be welcome back at West Ham!

Yeah I know he is but he obviously has his doubts otherwise he wouldn't be covering all bases at 26

Jack collison and dean Ashton both having to stop playing in their prime, 2 in one club (collision would obviously still be here but for injuries)
I can't think of any other team in the premier league era where this has happened?

Love to hear anything positive posted about Jack. Wish him well. Don't normally think it is a great idea ex players managing us but Collison is one player I would love to see managing West Ham one day.

Despite the injury happening so young he had a good career at West Ham over 100 appearances and some big goals and was better at his peak than Noble. I would not rule out him managing us one day.
He really had a lot of really good games as a West Ham player before the injury I'd say he had twice the number of great games in a West Ham shirt than nolan has despite loads more appearances if you been watching us closely the last decade you will know what I mean had an excellent engine on him.

A good point well made. He's obviously a very positive person.

Brian Clough's playing career finally ended in aged 29 though he suffered the cruciate injury aged 27... He went on to manage Hertlepools United aged 30 and the rest his history....
Jack is 26.... watch this space!!

Heartbreaking he's clearly not fit enough to play even at league 1 level any more.
Reckon he could make a decent coach/manager. Age didn't hold Eddie Howe back.
